Operational
S WA - Reinforcement must be installed in accordance with the relevant SWMS.
Reinforcement bundles including those that are delivered pre-slung with slings are not permitted to be lifted above a person’s head.
Reinforcement bundles must be delivered split into suitable length, weights and adequately stacked on gluts.
Ligatures and other reinforcement components are not permitted to be lifted in polypropylene bags or similar above any persons head. Polypropylene bags must be placed in bins/skips prior to lifting overhead.

Where practicable, shearing tools should be used to cut reinforcement bar.
WA and QLD - Nine (9) inch grinders / quick cut saws are not permitted to be used for cutting reinforcement bars.
P Where reinforcement bar is cut using a grinder (e.g. seven (7) inch grinder) a permit to work – hot work must be implemented.
Reinforcement bar ends must be capped, laced or otherwise protected.
